I cannot do what I've already done...

No... seriously. It's already loaded. I can see the page right there behind you.

Sadly, clicking on [ok] causes IE to show an "IE cannot display this page" page instead of, you know, the page it's loaded and displaying just fine behind the error box.

    I hate IE...

I love the Annals of Improbable Research
Food Fight is an abridged history of war, from World War II to present day, told through the foods of the countries in conflict. Watch as traditional comestibles slug it out for world domination in this chronologically re-enacted smorgasbord of aggression.

That is the claim — and yes, it’s an accurate claim — by the filmmaker.

Roger Ebert weighs in on the election
Who would have thought he'd review Palin? At any rate, he's discussing the most disturbing aspect of this year's campaigns.

    The candidate as rabble-rouser

    / / / October 10, 2008

    By Roger Ebert

Sarah Palin seems giddy with her newfound power as a rabble-rouser. She's using her charm to stir crowds of supporters toward hate. Have you been listening? What frightens me is that she is inciting to violence, which is a felony. Why do I say this? Because supporters have been videotaped at her rallies, screaming "kill him!" "traitor!" "off with his head!" and "terrorist!" At one rally, they started screaming at an African-American TV cameraman, using the n-word. The Secret Service is investigating some of these threats.

Did Palin observe these crowd reactions? Read her body language. She uses the tiniest of smiles and briefest of pauses we all use when we want to signal, "I hear you but I'm pretending not to." She uses the same sound bites at every speech, and they get similar responses. Like demagogues before her, she draws energy from the mob. She doesn't care what she's saying. She can't stop herself. She loves the applause. Don't for a moment assume she would be allowed to use those words in every speech if John McCain hadn't signed off on them.

    Obamamania
I've never seen people leaving work excited that they were going to go home and watch a politician give a speech on TV.

    Dr Horrible/House crossover?
When I heard that Felicia Day was going to be on House as a patient, my first thought was:

Wouldn't it be cool if those paramedics rushed Penny to Princeton Plainsburough Hospital where House and Wilson thwarted a Doctor Horrible plot to take the entire hospital hostage and have House be the 4th episode of Doctor Horrible?

I seem to remember Hugh Laurie being a good singer, too.

    Wedding Recessional
My cousin got married. He's a professional Tuba player, and has a lot of friends who are first chair brass players all around the world.

He got them all to come and play at his wedding.

    Katrina Photos
I saw these pictures in a museum in Anchorage, and thought they were impressive. They're photographs, but have obviously been doctored in some way. They look like paintings.

I think are the creepiest, and would fit well into any horror RPG, IMO :)

    Happy 4th Anniversary!
    Oppoprtunity - January 24th Spirit - January 3rd

Those little guys have been up there for 4 years, now! 16 times as long as their original 3 month mission.

As of sol 1408 (Dec. 19, 2007), Spirit's total odometry was 7527.52 meters (4.6 miles).

As of sol 1379 (Dec. 5, 2007), Opportunity's total odometry remained at 11,584.32 meters (7.2 miles), where the rover has been stationed since the last drive on Sol 1329 (Oct. 20, 2007).

    (I know I'm a little late. I don't check NASA's website every day)

    Puppy Bowl
I thought the Super Bowl was kind of a boring game this year, but I thought the Puppy Bowl was great fun. My sister-in-law said that the kitten half time show wasn't as good as it was last year, and I think the same can be said for the Superbowl half time show, too.

    Trance? Or just bored...
Am I the only one who totally zones out while I'm driving and then I have no recollection of how I got to where I find myself?

I usually wind up close to where I started heading, so it's probably just a case of just driving along on auto-pilot, but it's still disconcerting. I mean, what happened if I get completely lost and have no idea where I am or how I got there? I wonder how long it lasts? Is it lost time(tm)? Am I getting abducted by aliens?!? (it seems unlikely)
